Custom Collaborative is an entrepreneurship and workforce development program that aims to bridge gaps in the fashion industry: Workers who want fair compensation, thoughtful consumers who want quality clothes, and the natural environment. Founded by social entrepreneur Ngozi Okaro, the collaborative trains and supports women from low-income and immigrant communities to professionalize their sewing and design skills, overcome barriers to employment, and ultimately, to change the economics of the industry. Follow them on social media to find out the date of their next pop-up shop or fashion show, or to donate unused cloth: Ninety percent of women's creations are made from repurposed and upcycled textiles.
