Giving dap is a sign of dignity and pride, and shows unity in the community. (D and P also happen to be the first letters of the names of Daps owners, Dale and Paul.) Dale Cole, pictured below, hails from Jamaica and aims to create a family-friendly establishment where people from all backgrounds can gather and feel welcomed. Daps’ menu includes jerk chicken, curry chicken, stew chicken, oxtail, fish and festivals, plus a children’s plate for just $4 that includes chicken, rice, veggies and plantain.
