Welcome in winter with Voices from the Village — a Harlem sound celebration featuring jazz, drumming and spoken word.

On Sunday, December 21, from 3-5 p.m., join us at local small business Ginjan Cafe @ginjancafe to celebrate the Winter Solstice with maracas, drums, shakers and more — as we help the sun set and greet the Winter Lights along the street as they start to glow.

It’s all part of Make Music New York @makemusicny, the citywide music festival that’s for the people and by the people, on the summer and winter solstice of each year.

Leading the groove: Jazz musicians TC the 3RD @tc3jazz (vocals) and Marcus Persani @trio_cachimbo (keys), conguero and bongocero Joaquín Pozo (percussion), and poet and artist Sista Zock @sistazock.
