EL BARRIO HAS A LONG HISTORY OF USING ITS STREETS AS GATHERING SPACES. JOIN US TO CONTINUE THE LEGACY WITH OPEN STREETS 2022. JOIN US FOR OUTDOOR DINING, STREET GAMES & FAMILY FUN … PLUS SPLASHING IN THE HYDRANT WHEN THE TEMPS GET HIGH!
Lexington Avenue in the low 100s is known as East Harlem’s “Restaurant Row” — with cuisines including Mexican, Thai, Italian, Moroccan, Brazilian and Peruvian, plus seafood, barbecue, burgers, coffee and wine. And yes, one shop each dedicated exclusively to chocolate mousse and carrot cake.
This year’s Open Streets will pop up at 100th & Lex on Saturdays, and 101st & Lex on Sundays, from 12-8 p.m. each day. There’ll always be tables for outdoor dining, sidewalk chalk and beanbag toss for the kids, plus our outdoor reading room and artmaking.
Each weekend will feature special events as well. Click through to the Open Streets page for this week’s schedule of fun.
