El Barrio has a long history of using its streets as gathering spaces. Join us to continue the legacy with Open Streets 2024, with family fun, live music and outdoor dining -- plus splashing in the hydrant when the temps get high!

Lexington Avenue in the lower 100s is known as East Harlem’s “Restaurant Row” — with cuisines including Mexican, Brazilian, Thai and Italian, plus seafood, barbecue, juices, coffee and wine. And yes, one shop each dedicated exclusively to mousse, carrot cake and ice cream.

This summer, we’re popping up each Saturday through August, with Storytelling (2 p.m.), Crafts (3 p.m.) & Live Music (5 p.m.), plus other special events.
