This past summer's Grandscale Mural Project paint parties were such a vibe that: We're adding two more paint days this autumn!
So many amazing artists and creatives have applied to be a part of the project that we're putting two more dates on the calendar: On Saturdays, October 11 and October 18, from Noon-4 p.m., join us for some more great mural-making on the construction fences along East 125th Street.
There'll be live painting, music and good vibes -- with more than 25 artists creating murals to support and uplift the neighborhood. Click the images above for interviews with some of this past summer's artists.
Do you have a group that wants to pitch in on one of our community mural sections? We arrange volunteer days for schools, churches and other community groups. Email us at info@uptowngrandcentral.org.
This year's paint season has featured both the Gates Revival, when we're repainting storefront gates from previous years including the 100 Gates Project and We Are New Yorkers, as well as the fourth edition of the Grandscale Mural Project. Both are sponsored by the NYC Department of Small Business Services, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Center & Materials for the Arts.
