Ricardo Ramirez was born in Puerto Rico and raised in East Harlem, and is now also raising his son here. His work is influenced by surrealism as well as graffiti culture. For Grandscale, he depicts the Taino symbol of the sun as a sunflower, sprouting out of the cracks of the street.

Chelsea Garcia describes her style as cartoon expressionism, always using bright and bold colors in her images. While working as a preschool teacher, she created her super-ego character, the Rainbow Dragon, while drawing with her young students. Chelsea utilizes her dragon throughout some of her works to tell some of the stories of her life.

Jordana Abrenica is a queer artist of color who was born and raised in Texas, now lives in Harlem and feels that New York is the first location that feels like home.

Marc Mazurkiewicz was born and raised in New York City, and has created numerous murals in Harlem, including work with Harlem Children’s Zone and the Thrive Collective. He enjoys creating art for the people with bright colors and defined lines.

Outer Source has had family in East Harlem for years, and is a mural artist whose creates bright, shining galaxies and constellations. He uses spray paint as his expressive medium and employs techniques such as throwing and splattering paint on the wall to create supernovae and quasars. For Grandscale, he has created a cosmic dove of peace, as a sign of hope and unity for New York City and the world.

Ezo has lived in Harlem for more than 30 years, and has been working in largescale aerosol painting since the late 1970s. One of his recent commissions was painting an enormous Puerto Rican flag on the front of the historic Nuyorican Poets Cafe. His work is stylized and figurative, with the characters that inhabit his paintings serving as versions of his psyche and stream of consciousness.
