Evan Bishop was born in the Bronx in the 1970s. With the emergence of hip-hop as a global phenomenon, he gravitated to the visual element of the culture: Graffiti. His desire to paint his tag on trains, buses and walls in the Bronx and Manhattan superseded the dangers of live third rails, rival graffiti artists and transit cops. Now a mural artist and arts educator, Evan has painted for each incarnation of Grandscale, with his most well-known work a mural of DMX that he painted in 2019 along with BLAZAY, Tommy the Animator and Katori Walker.

Lola Lovenotes was born and raised in the Bronx, and now serves as a teaching artist for schools in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan. Her work strives to inspire and connect to the community by incorporating symbolism related to the themes of nature, heritage, social justice and inclusion, usually involving feminine figures and fantastic scenery. For Grandscale, her piece is in honor of women and children around the world, and a statement of the fact that immigrant families should not be ripped apart — but instead, be together.
