Caryn Cast creates murals, chalk portraits, and illustrations that often entail whimsy and animals doing “people things.” Her murals wind up in unusual places, anywhere from street alleys to restaurant bathrooms to cooking shows. Her mural for Grandscale is a tribute to Rose Meta Morgan, who by the 1940s owned and operated the largest African-American beauty parlor in the world.

Jon Souza, also known as Phes, is a Brazilian-American graffiti/mural artist, emcee, producer and educator. Born and raised in Harlem, he takes pride in representing the rich history of Harlem, particularly the connection to Black culture and arts. For Grandscale, he created this piece that depicts artist, actor, athlete and activist Paul Robeson.

Nicole Garvin is a Bronx-based multidisciplinary artist whose work considers a diverse, democratic, design form. In 2016, she started Bronx Art House, and is currently a student in the City College of New York Master’s in Art History program. For Grandscale, she has created a large-scale variation of a sticker series that she's been working on for more than a decade.

The Royal King Bee was born in Harlem and raised in The Bronx in the early 1970s. He began his career painting graffiti on walls until gathering recognition and eventually being commissioned to create art throughout the city of New York. King Bee still resides in The Bronx, where he continues to draw inspiration from the vibrant surroundings.

Christy Ayala is a self-taught Latina artist who was born in Harlem and raised in the Bronx. She is a co-founder of the artist collective Fantasy in Color alongside her late husband, Rob Ayala. Christy's artwork is inspired by personal experience and conveys a message of love and pain.

Laura Alvarez was born in Spain and moved to the Bronx in 2009, where she found a community that welcomed her and made her feel like home.
